Data Block: Filter
Let people viewing the dashboard filter several blocks by date, text, or number.
A Filter block is an interactive control for the people who consume the dashboard. The dashboard creator decides what the filter controls. People viewing the dashboard then use it to focus on the information they need. For example, they can choose Brazil in a Country filter and update several charts and tables at the same time. A single Filter block can contain controls for dates, text, and numbers.
Understand the settings tabs

Style the container around the block.
Start with Data:The block needs information before it can show anything. The Card tab is optional. If you do not customize it, the block and its card follow the dashboard theme. Use this tab only when you want this block to look different from the theme.
Configure the Data tab
Choose the kind of filter and the columns it should control.
Connect tables to blocks first:The Filter block shows the tables connected to other blocks on this dashboard. Choose which columns from those tables the filter should control. If no block is connected to a table, no tables or columns appear here, and the Filter block cannot be configured yet.

RequiredChoose the kind of information the input accepts.
- Date
- Show a date control for choosing a day or date range. Only date columns can be connected.
- Text
- Show a text control for values such as country, status, or product. Only text columns can be connected.
- Numeric
- Show a number control for values such as revenue, quantity, or score. Only numeric columns can be connected.
Choose the type first:Changing the Type removes any connected columns that no longer match. After changing it, review Tables and Columns again.
2. Show Title
OptionalAdd a short label above the viewer control.
- Title text
- Enter a clear name that tells viewers what they are choosing, such as Date, Country, or Revenue.
- Title Color
- Choose the title color. This appears after Show Title is turned on.
3. Tables and Columns
RequiredChoose which columns should respond to this input. Open each available table and select a column with the same type. Select columns from several tables when one viewer choice should update several blocks.
Configure the Card tab
The entire Card tab is optional. If you do not customize it, the card follows the dashboard theme. Use this tab only when you want this card to look different.
Card Style
OptionalChoose the style that fits the dashboard. This changes the card surface, border, corners, and shadow. It does not change the block's data.

- Elevated:
- Rounded with a stronger shadow
- Cyber:
- Glowing colored edges
- Claymorphic:
- Soft three-dimensional shading
- Flat Panel:
- Square surface without a shadow
- Glass:
- Transparent, blurred surface
- Neobrutalist:
- Thick border and high contrast
- Neuromorphic:
- Soft surface blended into the background
- Gradient:
- Background that blends colors
Background
OptionalShow or hide the card surface. Available colors follow the selected style.
Icon
OptionalAdd a symbol to the header. Choose its icon and background colors.
Title
OptionalName the block. Keep it short and clear.
Description
OptionalAdd context such as the unit or date range.
Footer
OptionalAdd a source, update time, or short note at the bottom.
Typography is separate:Title, Description, and Footer each have their own color, font, size, and weight. These settings do not change the data inside the block.
