Google Analytics - Connect analytics data for dashboards.

Connect analytics data for dashboards.

The Google Analytics integration lets you import reports from a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property into Dashbreeze. Each report you choose becomes its own table that you can use in your dashboards.

Important:Dashbreeze only reads report data from Google Analytics. It never changes your property settings, data streams, or configuration.

What you'll need

  • A Google account with at least Viewer access to the property
  • A Google Analytics 4 property — older Universal Analytics properties aren't supported
  • An idea of which metrics and dimensions you want to track

Connecting your Google account

Click Add Account. Give the connection a name, and a description if you'd like one. Then you're sent to Google to sign in and approve access.

This creates an integration. You only do this once per Google account, and can reuse it for every GA4 property that account has access to.

Selecting a property

After connecting your Google account, choose the Google Analytics 4 property you want to import data from. The list includes every property the connected account has permission to access.

Choosing your reports

Dashbreeze offers a set of ready-made report presets covering the most common things people track. Select as many as you want — each one becomes its own table, already populated with a sensible set of dimensions and metrics.

Presets are simply starting points. You can rename the table and add or remove metrics and dimensions before importing.

Why some metrics or dimensions appear grayed out

Google Analytics only allows certain metrics and dimensions to be used together. As you build or edit a report, Dashbreeze disables incompatible options so you can't select an invalid combination. If an option is grayed out, remove or change one of your current selections and it may become available again.

Setting a start date

Choose a Start Date for the import. Dashbreeze imports data from that date onward for every table you create.

By default, the Start Date is January 1 of the current year , but you can choose any earlier or later date.

Keeping your data updated

Google Analytics is a live connection. You don't need to reconnect your property every time new data comes in.

Open a table and choose how it should be updated. You can sync it manually whenever you want, or enable Automatic updates.

Updates only happen once a day:Google's Analytics API only processes a property's data about once every 24 hours. Because of that, both automatic updates and manual Sync Data are limited to once a day — syncing more often than that won't bring in anything new.
